ATE in general
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has a program called the Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program. ATE is NSF's main community college program. COSMIAC is involved with several different ATE grants. The common theme between all of these activities is the use of FPGA and Microcontroller technology. COSMIAC began efforts with the ATE program in 2009 with a grant entitled "Developing the Digital Technologist". COSMIAC received an addition ATE grant in 2012 related to Microcontroller outreach.
