COSMIAC recognizes that the ability
of the space community to embrace and implement
new microsystem-based solutions depends heavily
on a skilled and creative workforce prepared
with the right technical skills, experience,
and insights. COSMIAC strongly believes that
providing diverse and quality preparation opportunities
is critical to producing the high quality engineers
and technicians needed to sustain long term
growth of the FPGA and related fields.
COSMIAC provides the following
education and workforce development programs
that address all need levels from the industrial
edge to secondary education:
 |
Technical and
engineering workforce development program
in which COSMIAC meets the emerging needs
of space microsystem professionals through
the development and instruction of special
courses and tutorials available online,
at COSMIAC facilities, at COSMIAC partner
facilities, or during COSMIAC's
annual ReSpace Conference |
 |
University
programming in which COSMIAC staff and
professional educators prepare and package
curricula emphasizing contemporary logic
design tools, platforms, and skills; |
 |
Community college
level support in the form of staff tutorials,
workshops, and curricula development;
|
 |
FPGA Learning
Lab program in which the specific needs
of colleges, universities and other R&D
centers are met through the custom design,
delivery, and installation of comprehensive,
self-contained, workstation-based 'FPGA
Learning Laboratories'; and |
 |
K-12 educational
programming that is designed to increase
interest in math and science and to expose
students to advanced science and math
concepts during in-school and after-school
programming during the school year. |
