Ground Station

Trail BlazerGENSO will be utilized as the main ground station support organization for Trailblazer. GENSO is a European Space Agency initiative to provide global ground station support to academic institutions. It is a hub-spoke configuration. The master hub is located in Vigo, Spain and the back-up hub will be located at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), California. As an open source development, we provide developers the opportunity to create and debug drivers (and provide systems support) for new equipment. It is hopeful that GENSO will become a major component for supporting future ELaNa missions. GENSO can be utilized by any ground station with standard beam radion equipment. The current version of GENSO is RIE. It is envisioned that RZ will be released as open source sometime in 2011. Anyone who is interested in more information on this should contact craig.kief@cosmiac.org.
