CURRENT PROJECTS

COSMIAC has a wide variety of ongoing projects that are designed to support different research areas. Education and training from high school through post graduate level continues to be a major focus area for the Center. We are working via sponsorship from the National Science Foundation to develop research interest for undergraduates through the Research for Engineering Undergraduates (REU) program. We also continue to help to develop training and educational materials for reconfigurable logic at the community college and university level. Some of the schools we are currently working with include:

  • University of New Mexico
  • New Mexico Institute of Technology
  • New Mexico State University
  • Central New Mexico Community College
  • Maricopa Community Colleges
  •

We are working closely with the Air Force Research Laboratory to develop rapid space satellites via the CubeFlow program. COSMIAC is responsible for course development and system integration for this program. We are also developing our own small form factor FPGA circuit board for use in our CubeSatCam project to perform two meter resolution imaging from LEO.
